Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
When I need to move furniture in my house, I often
call on a friend for help. Why, because two are better than one. My strength
plus his strength makes the task much more doable. When I go through a trial, I
am wise if I ask for help. I should first go to the Lord who sees our hearts
and offers deliverance. But after going to the Lord, it helps to include our
spouse, if we are married, as well as others depending upon the severity of the
trial. The prayers of the saints are powerful and confiding in another believer
regarding our troubles helps to lift our burdens.
If we fall, our brother or sister can help us up. We
are stronger when we work together. A threefold
cord is not easily broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12). That threefold cord represents
two people in covenant with God.
If you are hurting, do not bear your burden alone.
Go to the Lord and find a friend who can also help to bear your weight of
suffering. The battle is the Lords, but He often uses people to help us during
the challenges of life.
The next time you go through a trial remember that two are better than one.
