Clay Pots

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 NLT

We are like clay pots containing the glory of God. When we go through trials of many kinds, it’s like holes are placed in our clay pots. Through it God’s resurrection life shines through. When we are weak, He is strong. When we stumble, God uses it to display his glory.

God promises victory to His children, but along that elevated path for us we sometimes face difficulty. But He transforms our difficulty into glory so that others may follow the King.

The Link Between Evangelism and Worship

There is a link between evangelism and worship. The need of the human heart is to behold Jesus. Jesus explained the importance of worship to the woman at the well. When she asked him about the kind of water Jesus offered her, He answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14

Then Jesus spoke to her about worship: “You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:22-24

Jesus was speaking to her about the need of the human heart, and that worshipping Him was the answer to that need. Jesus prophetically and gently pointed out her sin that she was living with a man. But the woman did not receive the word with condemnation instead it opened her eyes to the fact that Jesus was the Messiah and she told many others of this.

Let’s remember to engage others in conversation about the one who meets the need of the human heart. Let’s point them to Jesus and to worship. In our worship services, let us remember the lost by giving them an invitation to receive the Lord. Last, let us be sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit when we are in conversation with those that do not know the Lord. Let’s follow our Lord’s example in winning the lost.

In Christ

I am in Christ, and He is in me

He’s made me righteous, His grace I see

I am healed and whole because He suffered on the tree

In Christ I am bold, In Him I’m free

I am accepted in His family. I am complete in Him.

Because of Jesus, I am dead to sin

When He rose up from the dead, I was also made alive

Thanks be to God who stands by my side

I love You Lord for who You are

I will follow you near and far

I am in Christ and He is in me

He leads me on to victory

The Anointing

The anointing breaks the yolk of bondage.

Are you bound to greed? The anointing breaks the yolk.

Are you a slave and desire to be free? The anointing breaks the yolk.

Do you hunger and thirst for righteousness?  You will be filled.

Do you desire what’s only best? The tempest will be stilled.

God equips us to overcome.

Faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

We have already won.

Yield to Him - the One who’s true.

He will love you through and through.

Resist the devil. Turn your back on sin.

Let the Holy Ghost fill you with His power within.

Pray in tongues. His victor be.

Stand strong. His word sets us free

The anointing causes us to sing.

Oh, Death where is your sting?
